Zion National Park

is just two and a half hours from Las Vegas in Southern Utah . Take a day and fill your eyes with the pink, red and cream cliffs that tower above. For millions of years, the Virgin river has carved breathtaking canyons. Some canyons are miles wide while others are tiny slots that you will need to squeeze through. Drive across the park on the road that burrows through the mountains with stunning scenery on both sides of an impressive tunnel. A park shuttle takes visitors up the major Zion Canyon. There are fabulous short hikes from many shuttle stops that will let you experience the park's vistas, streams, and water falls. The shuttle begins at the tourist town of Springdale which has an abundance of cute shops and restaurants. Zion is simple drive north on Interstate 15. The drive will take you past Mesquite which is a great place to stop for an inexpensive breakfast or dinner. The drive will take you through the gorgeous Virgin River Gorge past St George. From 15, turn east at Utah route 9 toward the town of Hurricane. Route 9 will take you to Zion. There is a little known Kolob Rd in the town of Virgin that will allow you to view the Western part of the Park.
