Red Rock National Conservation Area  

is a ruby jewel located in the western part of Las Vegas. It is easily toured by car but you will want to stop and enjoy a short hike to the vibrant rocks, ancient pictographs, and desert springs. There is a educational Visitor Center, and picturesque picnic areas for your lunch or snacks. Enjoy the abundance of desert plants and amazing flowers in spring. This National Park is just a short drive west on Charleston Ave. In a half hour, you will see red mountains in front of you. Tour the Park's Scenic Loop and don't miss the Calico entrance a half mile before the Park's stone monument.
