Oatmanallows you to experience a mining community along Historic Route 66. This was original road (Route 66) from Chicago to Los Angeles. Now, the streets of Oatman are shared with both pedestrians and wild (but tame) burros. The burros love carrots. Oatman lies in the rugged hills of Arizona just east of the Colorado River and the gambling city of Laughlin. The area's scenery is punctuated with beautiful sharp peaks. Oatman is about 2 and a half hours drive from Vegas. Take US 95 South. Then, drive toward Laughlin on Nevada Route 163. After crossing the Colorado River bridge, take Arizona Route 95 (not the same a US 95) to the Boundry Cone Rd (watch for the Oatman signs) for short scenic ride to Oatman. There are many restaurants and shops in Oatman along with a ranch with horse back rides to the wild side of Oatman.
