Mount Charleston

is part of the Spring Mountain Recreation Area that lies west of Las Vegas. Mount Charleston is one of the favored areas for Vegas residents. In the winter, there are rustic cabins and snow play that many visit. In the summer, many use the cool mountains as a relief from the hot summer days and there are camp sites for those who what to stay the night. The Mountain has a couple of restaurants but you may choose to bring a lunch and eat at many picnic sites, Mt Charleston is a short drive from the strip. Take US 95 North then exit at Kyle Canyon which is Nevada Route 157. Drive up the Canyon to the top of the mountain.
