Grand Canyon National Park is one of the natural wonders of the world that cant be missed. There are three roads into the Park however the views from the South Rim is so awe inspiring that I recommend this approach. You will declare wow with the views of the Colorado River and its cuts through the many layers of the plateau. The movie gives you a taste of the spectacular scenery but there is nothing like the experience. Traveling to Grand Canyon National Park takes about 5 hours. A day trip should start early and end in the evening. However, I recommend that you stay an evening at the park. Doing so will allow you to experience sunset and sunrise when the views are astounding. To get to the Park, travel US 93 south to Kingman AZ. Then take I 40 east to Williams AZ where the Arzona route 64 will take you to Grand Canyon. The South rim has extensive facilities, trails along the rim for miles, a bus system to move you from area to area, many hotels, and a variety of restaurants. Do not miss the bus route to Hermits Rest for some of the best panoramas that will just bowl you over.
