Escalante National Monument -
Devil's Garden
located between towns of Escalante and Boulder Utah, nature displays its wondrous glory
at Devil's Garden. The weird rock formations include hoodoos and arches
which explode with colors against a stark background. You can reach
Devil's Garden by traveling east on Utah Highway 12 from US 89. Much of
the way you will travel through the vibrant Escalante National
Monument. You will reach the Hole in the Rock Road (watch for
the sign on the north side of the road a little over two mile east of the town
of Escalante .) Hole in the Rock Road is wide gravel road that any car can drive at a moderate speed of 40MPH.
After 15 miles, there is a sign on the west side of the road pointing the short
way to Devils Garden. The charming towns of Escalante and Boulder
have many restaurants and each town has a Utah state park that you should not
miss while there.
