Convict Lake

Convict Lake is a WOW in capital letters.   The area is announced with the splendor of multi-colored mountains.   The setting  nestles a lake in an environmental exhibition.   You will be hooked like the fish that swim in the lake.   To get to Convict Like drive north from Vegas on US 95 past Beatty.  (Beatty is your last chance for gas and food.)   Exit US 95 at Nevada Route 266 and continue on 266 until reaching California Route 168.   168 will take you to Big Pine.  Travel north on US 395 past Bishop to Convict Lake (watch for the exit sign)  Convict Lake has very few services however there are many motels and restaurants either in Bishop which is south of the Lake or at Mammoth Lakes which is just north of Convict Lake.
