Cedar
Breaks National Monument
preserves
thousands of feet of picturesque hoodoos that lie along the western
slope of the Colorado plateau.
The Monument reaches 10,000 feet so the it closes each winter. If you can spend the night, gaze into the
darkness and enjoy the view of the Milky Way and the boundless stars of the
heavens. Cedar Breaks is
located east of Cedar City UT. Take exit 57 off Interstate 15 and follow Utah
route 14 into the mountains. You can see parts of Monument for this
road. Take Utah route 148 to crest of Cedars Break. The charming
town of Cedar City is has many restaurants and hotels. A short distance
from the Monument is the Brian Head alpine village with facilities open
all year around.
