Cathedral Gorge Nevada State Park is a sensational area to explore. Along the Gorge are plethora of rock spires which extend up the gorge cliffs. Walking the gorge exposes canyons where you can walk among the spires. The canyons often lead to alcoves where the spires tower over head conferring the feeling of a Cathedral. Cathedral Gorge is located north of the small town of Caliente, Nevada on US hwy 93. Part of the glory of traveling to Cathedral Gorge is viewing the geology along this scenic US 93. There are a series of mountain chains, lakes and canyons to observe. There is even a hot spring in Caliente if you want to partake in that activity. To access US 93 North drive a short distance north on I15. Caliente has a number of small restaurants and stores that provide snacks and drinks. There are no services at Cathedral Gorge State Park however there are picnic areas adjacent to the scenic canyons. It is great fun for children who can run among the spires but they can not get lost since canyons are short and end in cul-de-sacs.
