Bishop Lakes

Bishop is the gateway into three Lakes that are not only exquisite but they are a Mecca for fishermen/women.   (I have also used one of them, South Lake, as a portal into Kings Canyon but more often I used western approaches to Kings Canyon - try Hell-for-Sure Pass sometime.)  Each of the lakes is splendid and enveloped by stunning mountain scenery.    To get to Bishop drive north from Vegas on US 95 past Beatty.  (Beatty is your last chance for gas and food.)   Exit US 95 at Nevada Route 266 and continue on 266 until reaching California Route 168.   168 will take you to Big Pine  through a volcanic canyon that is an impressive.  At Big Pine, you will reach US 395.  A few mile north on 395 is Bishop.  Bishop has a series of motels and restaurants and while there you can purchase all the gear that you will need for  fishing.
